High dampingseismic seismic isolators are a series of standard components for seismicisolation bridges developed by China Communications First Highway Survey,Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. in accordance with current nationalstandards (GB 20688) and relevant industry norms, while referring to Europeanstandards. They are patented technical achievements funded by major scientificand technological research projects at the provincial and ministerial levels.This series of products has passed the provincial and ministerial levelscientific and technological achievement appraisal (Shaan Ke Jian Zi [2010])No. 097 and related certifications, which have been upgraded to thetransportation industry standard of the People's Republic of China (JT2009-26), are applicable to various types of highways and municipal bridges inearthquake intensity areas of 9 degrees and below.

Isolation rubberbearings not only have all the performance of plate bearings, but also havegood isolation performance, which can effectively reduce the damage caused byearthquakes to bridges. High damping rubber bearings are a type of isolationrubber bearings, which are made of high damping rubber materials and canachieve a damping ratio of 10% to 16%. Its shape and structure are the same asnatural rubber bearings, but its rubber material has a high viscosity, canabsorb energy on its own, and has great ductility. It can extend the naturalvibration period of the structure during earthquakes, reduce seismic forces,and use its energy dissipation characteristics to play a seismic isolationrole, achieving the performance of lead core sandwich rubber bearings.

Using high dampingcomposite rubber material instead of lead core, adjusting the proportion offilling material to change the total damping, making it have strong energyconsumption ability, and achieving the effect of reducing isolation. Highdamping rubber bearings have stable performance, strong energy dissipation andductility. High damping rubber bearings have higher equivalent viscous damping,which means they have higher energy dissipation. They have significant seismicisolation effects and can effectively control the seismic response of isolatedstructures. Due to the integration of functions, the volume is smaller thanthat of lead core bearings, which can save usage space, make construction moreconvenient, and the price is also cheaper than lead core sandwich rubberbearings.
